First off let me say I’m sorry about not posting last week. I was busy with work and in the evenings I was busy with other things. I will try and do better from now on.
Whirlpool refrigerator ED25UQXGW01 ice maker not working. The first thing I always do with ice makers not working is check the water valve. So I remove the cover on the back bottom side of the refrigerator and follow the water line to the water valve. Of course always unplug the refrigerator before working on electrical components. On this particular model the ice maker is held on to the refrigerator frame with 2 1/4″ hex screws. I removed the 2 screws and disconnected the electrical connector from the side of the valve that goes to the ice maker. The water line that goes to the top of the back side of the refrigerator is the water line to the ice maker. Then I use my ohm meter to check for continuity. There was none on this valve indicating a bad water valve. I replaced the valve with a new one, plugged the refrigerator back in, and just a few minutes later I heard the ice maker fill with water. Here is a not so great picture of the old water valve.
