Refrigerator Not Cooling Warner Robins, GA – Sealed System Problem

Went on this call where the refrigerator was not cooling properly. I checked the normal things to check – the evaporator fan was blowing, the condenser fan was blowing and the compressor was running. I looked at the condenser coils to make sure there was no air flow restriction. They were clean. At this point I knew it would be a sealed system problem so I took the evaporator cover off and this is what I found. Just a small block of ice on the coils. The coils were not cold at any other spot. This is a prime example of a sealed system problem. Either the unit has leaked refrigerant, the compressor is weak, or there is a restriction somewhere in the refrigerant lines. The customer did not want to spend the money on a repair as these repairs are very expensive.
